Default new clutch for a 2002 996 TT recommendations

So my Clutch started slipping today during a track day and now when I go into the boost the revs climb and the speed stays the same, just managed to drive it home at 65mph

It has a slight tine and has around 500 hp to the crank . looking for something that will be better than stock but to much for street use

But I definatly need nothing a little more durable than the stock clutch

what is the average cost of an indy shop do replace it?

+ 1 - I will be using Kevin's GT3RS 4.0 clutch/flywheel assembly come the cold.

6-8 hours seems low. Is this with just dropping the tranny? is that a recommended method?
I need to get mine done as well, just sourcing parts etc...

I did mine with my buddy on a rented lift. About 7 hours and all I did was open beer. Yes drop trans only. Woulda been faster but we had to fiddle with the clutch fork upon re-installation. Like 3 times ymmv but that's the trickiest part is lining it up correctly.

If staying with stock flywheel, should it be machined? thinking of going with Sachs 2.5, and was told by a supplier to machine the flywheel for warranty to be valid.

It's a weighted dual mass. Can't machine it. You can scuff the surface to clean it up. Generally the Flywheels are good for several disc or clutch kit replacements...About 100k miles. Unless it was slipped so bad it has hot spots or you can feel excessive chatter. I have shipped over 200 clutches and only changed 10 or so flywheels.

What's the method for scuffing/clean up? Looking a good used DM flywheel for GF's Porsche to save some $. And, I'll be pulling the TT apart this winter and expect a clutch job.
Thanks!

So, scuffing/clean up? Sorry, I could start a new thread. Don't mean to hijack..
