If the dealer has multiple mechanics I'd think you'd refer to the place as "my wrenches".
No, the same guy, every time; I wouldn't want all kinds of unknown hands on my baby.

Do OPC's sell new Porsches, or are they just Porsche certified shops that only work on Porsches?

What's the difference between an OPC and an independent specialist shop?

Mine goes to a Ford dealer for service. The reason I take it there is due to the fact that the kid who works on it is one of those automotive savant types - he is qualified to work on the Ford GT, and I don't mind kicking a couple of hours of 'learning' into the pool so that he gets mine right.

So Dock, yes, money and faith.

Does the Ford dealership charge normal dealer rates for this mechanic's time spent working on your 996 Turbo?

No I get a pretty good break on my turbo, $116/hr/CDN. This is most likely due to the fact that I spend quite a bit on my trucks and other equipment (gennies, UTV, E350 Wagon, etc.). I also get a 2 year warranty (unlimted miles) on any work that goes south, but this doesn't happen, and is probably the primary reason I keep going back.

I'm not complaining, as my 'OPC' charges something like $260/hr and always finds more wrong with the car than is wrong with the car.
