Front end noise.
I've changed links and shocks. I shook the car this morning and this is what I heard.
Narrowing down the source of the noise. Anyone heard anything like this?

Was it making that noise before you replaced the parts? I’d get the car up on a lift and remove the front tires. Easier to poke around that way. Is it making the noise when you push it side to side or up and down?

That's the oddest noise I have ever heard. Have you checked that the sway mounts to the body are tight? And have you tried spraying some WD-40 or something like it into the bushings that mount the sway bar to the body?

Gas tank is an interesting idea. There are two lift pumps that draw fuel up from the two bottom recesses of the tank. They are secured to the pump by two hoses and a clip. If the clip somehow failed the lift pump could still function yet it might make a rattle like that.
This thread shows how to get in there.

After further poking around, the noise really transmits, I found the noise was coming from the top of the tank unit.
From I bought to car a year ago it made the noise intermittently. The noise would transmit to the steering wheel, brake pedal, mostly the left but occasionally from the center.
I changed strut bearings, stabilizer links and left front strut. Each time the noise would come back after a few days. For now I stuffed the black dome with a rag to muffle the sound.
I found the noise by accident after putting the front end on jack stands and testing for tie rod and ball joints. Vigorous shaking produced the noise.
Doesn't look like a serviceable unit so I'll try a used unit for now. Can't afford a new one now.
The gauge works fine now but when I bought the car I was surprised how quickly it emptied the tank. So maybe the sender is faulty.

Open the tank and check to see that the pump assembly is properly locked down to the base in the tank. The fuel gauge going down fast might be due to a P.O. disconnecting the battery when the tank was empty or near empty. Maybe to work on the pump assembly? Read up on the quirks of your saddle tank.

Sounds like pump is loose. It screws into place like a light bulb. Rotate it clockwise and see if it locks into place.

No. Not the pump. It's in the top of the tank unit. Rattling like a big marble. I am tempted to open it but I think I should wait till I have a replacement.

The fuel level sending unit must be broken or loose.
