996TT H&R spring install
Howdy Folks,
I installed a set of H&Rs this weekend and added a 10mm spacer on the back struts in order to level the car out more, or potentially have front end slightly lower.. Have any of you done this before?

I put spacers front and rear to get my car up to the gt2 minomum height with H&R springs, i am on my third front lip since i put the springs in. It was waaay low at first.

Unlike the OPs spacer on the spring (nicely done) i used drilled out large diameter washers and placed them over the 3 mounting bolts on each top hat. I think mine were .11" thick and I drilled out the ID larger than the mounting bolts because there is a raised chamfer around the bolt where it comes out of the top hat. I put them on the front and rear and just barely got to GT2 ride height. I am at 25 1/2 rear and 25 3/8 front to the fender arch.
This is the table I made

For what it's worth, my stock 2001 Turbo has about 1/2" of negative rake...
~60K miles on the original stock springs, stock tire sizes without excessive rear tire wear.
I have a set of H&R springs and F/R B8's waiting to go on, but I'd like to figure out spacers if needed before I start the install.
Ride height photos blow. Apologies for my disgustingly dirty wheels and calipers! ;-O

Hello,
Spacers were custom made, steel coated in high zinc paint.. I put a bit of silicone to stick it to strut lip..
51mm ID, 75mm OD, 10mm thick ..
I haven’t assembled other side yet, but my fender to floor will be ~26.5” because I have 295/30R19s, 225/40R19 tires...

With the B&H springs and how low it will end up you will need toe links or the eccentric bushings to be able to get your camber and toe set propetly. I did the elephant racing eccentric bushings (cheapest route) but real adjustable toe links would be better. Elephant also has great prices on the stock front top mounts.

The rear is only 12-15mm lower than OE, so it might be ok..

I'm in the process of replacing my bilstein/H&R setup. While I was removing the strut perch (I think that's how it is called) I started thinking if adding a bigger spacer between the perch and the strut would be a better solution for raising the front like you did in the rear. There is currently a thin spacer there, so adding a thicker one should be a good solution?

I discussed shimming the coils with the guy at H&R before i installed my set. He was concerned about coil binding due to reduced space for coil when the shock compresses and said that they are designed for the current travel of the shock and bad things could happen if the geometry was altered. That is why i left the coil and shock alone on my install and simply shimmed the top mount down from the body where it mounts. Coil shims are probably not a problem but if too thick might make for some harsh hits if you G out.

Did you do this front and rear?
I'm sure it would make sense to me once I have everything apart, but I'm trying to get an idea exactly what I need to do for shimming before disassembly.
Also, not directly related to shimming, but I did H&R's on a 996 C2 years ago myself. I remember the fronts being pretty easy. What additional parts need to come off with the AWD to finesse the front struts out?
