Feal has a $75/corner in house rebuild program that's tough to beat.

Right now I'm in the process of becoming a FEAL dealer

Any suggestions on rebuilding these? I'm not sure what the ceramic pucks are all about.

The Zircon (ceramic) pucks are there as heat insulators and as such have much better insulating properties than steel pistons. They are used on all GT and Cup calipers. They normally fall out during brake pad changes as they are glued in to a small recess in the aluminum piston. You have to be very careful as they are very fragile and will crack/break if allowed to fall on the ground. For this reason, Porsche Motorsport makes small retainers (spiders) that press into the center of the pucks and tie them to the pistons. The are a must for track use cars but most people do not know they exist. FYI, Porsche does not sell the pucks separately. They are only available as a full rebuild kit that is sold by PMNA which includes all seals, all pistons, and all zircon inserts. IIRC, the kit is about $400 per caliper and does not include dust boots which you can buy from any dealer. I don't bother with dust boots as they burn up in a few track sessions. To do it right, I would rebuild with the PMNA kit as all parts are made by Brembo. There are cheaper aftermarket options but as always, buyer beware. Good luck...

I think it's a great pickup for you guys. Any chance of seeing the TT on the track this fall?

Not my TT, it's a convertible. I do have it finally running though. I've only been to the track once this year, going to try an squeeze a track day sometime this year. I am signed up for that Lake Garnett Revival event in Kansas.

This is interesting. Scoops cut into the underlay for transmission cooling. Part #996.504.830.00

I had some of those. But they got destroyed when my mechanic left a screw out and the panel was dragging on the ground at 160 for a couple of laps.

order up all the 997 turbo underpanels from the front piece back. 2 side panels 1 center panel and 1 trans panel 1 engine panel. this will flatbottom the entire car from front to back.

^ great tip.

The first attempt by my machine shop using a Boxster/C2 wheel carrier to pull the puck from was a success. The donor wheel carrier was lost in the process but I can get hem cheaper than Porsche would sell the puck if it was available separately. I will bring the other side in to fix when I have them inspect all of the suspension components now that I have a solution.

Any tips for getting some stuck rear axle nuts off? My cheater bar bent my 3/4" breaker bar trying to loosen it. And the 1200lb air impact gun did nothing even with multiple PB blaster applications.

Are you using a "real man" breaker bar like this:
Amazon Amazon

It's never failed me!

Why are you removing axle nuts?
