My last post to you was an effort to clarify what you mean by "it seemed to work". There may be some notification system I don't know about here on Rennlist, other than the ability to get email notifications.

Thanks for the "have a very blessed day". Hope you have a good day too.

Hahaha! /\

Back on topic... Sorry to hear about the crash and glad you got it fixed. Glad I'm doing a suspension refresh as well

And thanks for all of the well wishes. This is not the first time I've driven away from the track swearing I'm done for good only to find myself absolutely craving it a few months later.

As for hitting a tire wall, that's why I spend most of my time at Hallett. It's very technical and very forgiving, most of the time. I love COTA but I won't go back until I have a car that's fully sorted and I've got some seat time in. I've already paid them for scratching their barrier once, I don't intend on doing it again.

Hoping to make more progress on the car this weekend and get a list together of pieces to freshen up.

COTA is an amazing experience. I got a chance to run it for the first time last year. Unfortunately I only got 3 sessions before a torrential downpour set in and that was about the time I started to figure out the lines a bit. It's a very technical track and deceptively hard to figure out in short order. Becoming friendly with a barrier can get pricey down there at $1500 per linear foot. I know a couple of guys that have stroked some big checks there when thing didn't quite go as planned. I ran it on Nittos but would love to go back and run it on some slicks which would really make that track shine with all of it's high speed sweepers.. I'm gonna try to make it down later this fall or next spring. We should try to meet up.

GL, OP, you guys are an inspiration.

John, are you doing any left-foot braking?

I had intentions on making nasa nationals there in September, but I'm still finding things broken from dude rear ending me last December. Dealing with broken turbo, broken exhaust and swapping coilovers now. Should be ready at that point. No accrued events to even qualify for nationals though (that part is my fault).

Ouch. John's right too, stop adding up how much you spend and stop thinking about residual values in not only racing, but cars in general. We literally trade money for happiness here lol. That being said, John's setup is nice w/ a double jam nut, but if space allows, and this is a dedicated race car, I would safety wire all that ****. By design it looks like the nut started backing off prior, then the load forces on that rod end were too much. With adjustable ends and heim joints it's easy to just replace the joints every so often. Not too expensive and cheap maintenance for a race car that seems much higher loads than a street car.

There should be an insert that slides in there. To my knowledge, Porsche doesnt sell it separately- at least not listed in PET. I had to sacrifice one of my spare rear uprights to get a pair out to swap over.

So you were driving the car without those bushings in there, or am I misunderstanding?

Yeah. The bushings are not sold separately. I have a spare set of 996GT3 uprights I would be willing to let go if you end up in a bind and need a replacement. These are Unobtainium now as they are no longer made by Porsche and unavailable worldwide.

Did a shop assemble the suspension?
