Hey Everyone,

Recently purchased a 2003 Turbo with Bose speakers and also has Bose sub woofer installed behind the rear seats. Also stock radio. Upon receiving the car, previous owner told me radio would cut in and out randomly. Since owning the car I have not been able to get any sound out of the speakers. That being said the head unit for the stock unit will come to power, read "Porsche" and allow me to change radio stations, etc. I haven't been able to dive into a full troubleshoot yet, but plan on it when I get back from work next week.

Has anyone ran into this issue in the past? Is there any start off point you would recommend looking into?

fuses first. possibly loose. remove & reinsert. check the guide at the fuse panel for positions.

I had the same problem. Turned out to be the power amp.

Pull the smaller connector to the amp, and see if there are any signs of light coming through it (it is a laser, so don't look into it, just put the connector really close to piece of paper and see if there is light shining out of the end).

If you get light, this means it is likely that the headunit is sending an fiber optic signal. It follows that it is more likely the amp that is having problems...

If you were losing one speaker I would say loose wire to that speaker. If no sound I would think something common to all; head unit or amp. Any competent car audio shop has the equipment to determine which.

As mentioned it's probably the amp fuse in the frunk, fuse type: T3.15l 250v

Does anyone know the 4 digit code to turn on the radio?

It's not the same code for all 996 Turbos.

This 4 digit code should be in your owners manual !

My radio code was on a separate piece of paper (from Porsche) when I purchased my 996 Turbo.
