Kind of the same boat I'm in. At this point I'm good with receipts from a well known shop that back up that the labor has been done. All cars have wear and tear and there is always a cost of ownership. Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed not worried about all the time.

yup, and when you get into ppi's and this and that, its gone. I would love to sit back and do all kinds of recon and due diligence, but the reality is, you will loose the car to someone else.

it will be here monday the 16th! ..cant wait. one thing I am pretty sure I will want to do is restore the factory stereo setup and get rid of the amp in the trunk. I drive in silence usually, and i have always thought the after market stereos looked cheap.

anyone have an 02 turbo stereo to sell? and the compartment box

i gotta find the previous owner!

Here's the compartment box (also called a radio support shelf or a cubby):

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...965522530101c/

$63.21 with free shipping from ECS Tuning. Cheapest price I found since Warehouse33auto.com doesn't carry it.

Look at the options sticker in the frunk to see what model stereo you have, then search ebay to find a used one of that same model. Probably will set you back about $200. Hopefully the previous owner's stereo installation guy didn't mangle the stock wiring too badly when he installed the aftermarket unit.

Does your car have the aluminum look instrument dials? If so, you probably want to keep them.

EDIT: Just went back and looked at the online ad (it is still up but shows sold). I see what you're talking about - the insert that surrounds the instrument dials. Hmm, looks like it doesn't come apart - it is a part of the eyebrow panel that covers/shades the instruments, part number 99655205903 in black plastic (no leather cover) :

Maybe you could pull the entire part, then mask off the hood portion and just paint the silver part back to black. Lots of info in here about what rattle can paint works well for interior parts.
