Ride quality

I've become a vocal Ohlins R&T advocate around here the last few weeks. Without a doubt will be your ideal solution that enhances compliance, composure, and response with one system. And you can fine tune the adjustments to any particular need in all of 2 minutes.
In the last month, I've had Ohlins and new Pilot Sports installed. Haven't had a day warmer than low/mid 50's, most of my drives have been in the 30's in fact, but the ride quality is still on another level. 70's on Friday and Saturday - if anybody needs me, I'll be piling miles on my car.

The tires are indeed Extreme Contacts and the fronts are 225/45/18's. Of the sizes available these gave me the best possible match on rev's (and were on sale). I would have liked to go a little wider in the back but there just were not any good matches above 295. 18"ers are getting hard to find in our sizes, especially when you have to match all 4.. I pulled off Sumitomos, didn't really like them though they were pretty cheap.

Just keep in mind the higher sidewalls lessen the handling! Also if you stay with 98y load tires. The sidewalls will be stiffer due to higher weight capacity. The 98y at stock sizes will provide the best handling if you track your car! On the road doesnt really matter that much. Stiffer sidewalls also take away from the ride quality and offer a stiffer ride.

Well the Conti ExtermeContact 295/35s I had put on gave a much better ride but the right rear died from running on the inner sidewall (as a lot do). Alignment was ok but had it done again anyway. Problem was Continental no longer made a 295/35 (at least on nationwide backorder) so I had to change both to PS2 315/30s to try to get some more sidewall. Not quite as comfy but a h#ll a lot better than the Sumitomos I had on it. Plus 315s obviously look better and no rubbing with stock setup. Track handling is not an issue, mine is a 15k/yr DD.
