Default Chasing a Gallardo on track today

Changed the oil last night and finally got to the track this year on a nice sunny day. This Underground racing Gallardo shows up regularly too and as long as he's only on the 750hp setting it's good cat/mouse. I felt a little rusty as you can see by my out-braking attempt, only works if you make the corner Had to wait for him to go by then chase...

AWESOME!

Did you pull over for the chase? You mentioned you did..

I was impressed at his acceleration but you came really close in the curves!!

Great Video.....and great fun!

Ice pedal going into 3a, luckily there's a good run off there I use a few times a year. Pacific Raceway (SIR formerly) does not have much room for errors at the limit. Lots of surface variance/transitions and bumps in places that can bite you.

That doesn't look like a very forgiving track Mark. What is the deal with the placement of the cones in the middle of the track in a couple of the sections?

Agreed, I drive some very tight tracks in the Northeast but they are lined with armco to keep you out of the trees. Just watching this video makes me nervous. Too many trees way too close and accessable.

No, it really isn't but I was there again today! Great track that really tests your gut and the cars suspension, but could use a little tree clearing.
They have the cones for a school that runs to show the line, but often also give you reason to try a new line since they get whacked around.
I hit a frozen one at 90 that got kicked up by a Pro3 e30 last year and it exploded into a bazillion pieces

Damn, those fire *****! Looking good Mark, track always reminds me of Palmer out here where there is no real run-off space what so ever.

Palmer at least has concrete barriers and cut granite walls to keep you out of the trees, LOL.

Were you at Palmer with NER in September 2017?

I would drive public roads before hitting that track. Too dangerous

Was there in 16, took last year off to move my business. Will be back there at least once this year. The walls do help, however when I was there during the AER race one of the E36's hit the inside stone coming onto the straight that sent the car up 30ft into the air. Super fun track but not a place to get ultra brave IMO.

Gallardo looks like it is firing afterburners with all of the fireworks it is putting on.

Also, you sure love the safety run off at 3A haha.

Reminds me of one our fun power lunch days

I've seen many a car have to be carried off this track with a fork lift... Really only 2 spots that is safe to run off. And I hate those freaking cones. They are only there for Proformance days, PCA and SCCA don't use them... They really screw up my line going into 2, I don't like going in that wide.. I've accidentally punted a couple off course at T2 and in the downhill braking zone around T4.

I thought it was just me getting the shivers seeing all those trees.

Thanks for posting up the video, you'll be a handful when your car's back together!
I really need to check out the Ridge, it's just such a freaking haul down there, then back after tracking all day.
