Default 02' 996TT has and IMS bearing???

Just got off the phone with a shop to price a clutch install...he said I should replace the IMS bearing while I'm in there....I told him the 996 TT doesn't have an IMS....He said he thought the 02' "still had the IMS" ....WTF....Does an 02 Turbo have an IMS bearing???

Yes, Already discarded that option...would love to find an independent shop that knows what they're talking about in the Southern Ohio/Indiana area if anyone has any recommendations

To answer your question, yes the tur is have a ims bearing but it’s not the same one as the m96/m97 non turbo/gt3 cars.

its not a bearing its a shell that the shaft rides on. not an issue. message dan kinzie on here. dkfx is his username. he is in cincy and knows what shops to use and stay away from.

Would you mind telling us who that was? While I have not contacted them yet, I was leaning towards P3Autokrafte (http://p3autokrafte.com/). They put on a local PCA event and seemed very knowledgeable. I was going to shop around and would like to avoid your experience.
