I don't know if that's a fair comparison. The actual plastic on my shifter and others I looked at had a large depression where the shifter handle constantly rubs it.

from my memory I was thinking about the long sleeve bushing not sure it you are thinking the same. it maybe a different type of material from my memory it looked and felt like a delrin type material. although it maybe more along the lines of pvc or nylon base.

on another note from my experience all the 911 manuals require more finesse and timing to get a good smooth shift, if trying to slam or forcing bad timed shift will have a tendency to mis or bobble a shift, although the older I get the pdk is starting to look more appealing. still like to row my own boat while I still can.
