New Michelin P4S sizes, but not what we need
#16
I was emailing to Michelin the other day and asked why they do not produce the sizes 255/35 ZR18 and 315/30ZR18 for there Cup2. They told me, that there wasnt enough demand for it.
I guess if we all bother them via email to produce the newer tires in 996TT or 6GT2 tires, the chance is that they will.
I feel left behind somethimes when i check the possible tire options for the 996 TT.

Ive been very happy with Yokohama's AD08R and just purchased the new version just released the AD052 (in stock sizes). For my needs of street driving, 8-10 AutoX events and two track days a year, and 5k street miles they held up better than the PS2 ever did. I think I just got the PS2 too hot, and it massively degrades treadwear when that happens. All said, the PS2 is a good street tire. Just old and expensive. I will post my findings this season on the new AD052.

I chatted with a Michelin customer service rep today about the P4S in our factory rear size of 295/30/R18.
She did confirm that 11 new sizes would be coming out this spring. I asked her about our 295 and she replied " No, the 295/30/R18 is not coming out as of yet. We only have R19 and R20's coming out in April and May."
so unfortunately the new releases will all be in R19 and R20 size.
I conveyed to her the need for the P4S in our OEM size and that there would be a demand for the tire, and she thanked me for bringing it to her attention and she elevated the case. Probably doesn't mean much.... but if more folks do it, perhaps they will hear our demand.
if you're interested in doing the same, and putting in a quick chat to Michelin, here's the link:

you can do this online and its pretty easy.
cheers

I just did a chat to them as well and they said they will forward it to their marketing dept. If enough of us contact them maybe they will discontinue the PS2 and give us the PS4S. Or even better, give us both. Wishful thinking, but worth a try I suppose.

Correct, but its not even a supersport, let alone a PS4S. Again not saying its a bad tire. I have been through 4 sets and they were very good for the street. But the difference in an AutoX setting is pretty massive when compared to compounds available from other manufacturers. I also saw better wear from my AD08R'S in comparison when used in a mixed track/street environment.
