What's the verdict on Forgestar F14 wheels?
My turbo is currently on 19" wheels. I want to go back to 18". Came across the Forgestar F14 and i like the look, but i'm getting mixed signals on them. I was wondering if people with real experience with them on 996TT would share their opinion. Especially those with longer term use.

3 years, almost 10,000 miles, and no issues. They look brand new still. Some folks had issues early on when they used Forgestars junk chinese lug bolts. But I did my homework and bought a very nice set of high quality tuner lug bolts from World Motorsports in LA for about $100ish.

My car came with a set on it and I ran them on the track over 15 times with nt-01s and 5k+ street miles and no priblem. Make sure you use the correct conical nuts with these wheels.

I absolutely stand by my comments above, these wheels have been 100% trouble-free, and I'm on my second set of tires, so they've been on a wheel machine twice. They look 99.9% new. That being said, some have opined that perhaps I cheaped out when I bought them (new from Mod Bargains $1600ish) and should have bought 'real' forged wheels for my car. I've typically dismissed that notion, but I could have spent more dough, hell I spent $2500 for a PAIR of American made billet alum wheels on my Harley. The Forgestars are proven great bang for the buck, but don't expect any kudos on your nice wheels, they're still cast in China.

So what are your mixed signals? You've got a few firsthand testimonials that they are a quality product, despite being made in China. As long as you have the proper lug bolts, there's no issues.
They really modernize the car and I went with a little more (+5mm) offset, eliminating the need for spacers.
the 18 x 8.5" front also allows for a bigger than stock tire, I'm currently running 235/40s up front, but will end up with 245/40s. The rear 18x11s will work with either 295s or 315/30s.

actually after doing some more research it seems the 315 can be mounted on a 11" rim but its the low end of the measured rim recommendations. a 11.5-12' rim seems to be a better fit but not mandatory.
