lots of opinions on oil tires and who should do the work. have to decide what works for you. on a stock car with little to no mods in the south oem spec is as good as any other. i have used mobil 1 rotella t6 gaurdall and various weights. but im not stock either!

Welcome to the club! Since I don't drive mine daily, I absolutely love owning a black Turbo. It just contours the lines so well - as shown in your new avatar image. I also love my sport seats! Looks like you got a good one. It would be great if Doug did a video of your car!

Yeah, I hope he'll agree to do a vid on it. That'd be fun. He used to live here in Atlanta and has friends here. Hopefully he'll come through and shoot it.
I'm Stil trying to decide on the lights. Sonnen has the originals for about the same total price as the LED's. We'll see in the coming days what I'll go with.

So it seems the PPI from Hennesey Porsche the previous owner had done was misleading. They didn't quote to have all new Struts installed. Only the labor to replace the "Bump Stops" and for the parts themselves.
The car actually ride very well and smooth. I think the Struts are fine. I got a quote on replacing All struts and a quote for just replacing the Bump Stops. Is there any reason to replace the Bump Stops and save a lot of money using the old Struts or would that be stupid, given that they'd be in there anyway. Remember, this a "transition" car for me to eventually sell and get a Silver 997TT that I really wanted.
BUT, after driving it a bit today, This is really a fantastic car. Maybe I'll learn to love it and it being Black and decide to keep it a while. Given all that's been done and replaced on it.

The 996TT and 997TT drive very differently. Be sure to spend a lot of time in both before casting off the 996TT.

It's more of a looks thing for me though. Along with the more modern interior and tech.
However, for the deal I got and since this one is paid for, I'll probably keep it for a while. I do like the black and looks, but it's just not "me" as much as my love of Silvers and Grey's

Definitely doesn't make sense to remove and replace your entire 80K mile old suspension just to replace bump stops. You'll likely never hit the bump stops in your Turbo anyway, new or deteriorated, unless you go slamming into an unexpected pothole speed bump at significant speed. You'll want to do an alignment after R&R'ing the suspension as well so figure another $200-$300 in cost.
