I guess that piece is covered in leather since we have full leather? Otherwise, I was going to suggest trying to find one off a non-TT 996.

Always ebay. Search the part number. There a group out of Albuquerque that always seems to have all the interior parts I need. Don't bother with "make an offer" as they never want to deal even a buck.

you could probably print one in 3d.
Also I think I have seen a replacement that is an open compartment for storing stuff that may be more useful.
