sam is a vendor here and on 6spd "sambott" and his CO is By Design Auto. he's a WELL KNOWN resource that many of have used for years for parts and advice and he also flips/builds a Pcar now and then. in addition to that other local resource i shared with you, he's also a "must have" person to know. i'd hit him up, ya never know what he might know of.

but that particular car? I'm thinkin', is a roll of the dice. you a gambler, matt? lol

Looks like that is engine oil leaking from the area up by the oil filter housing.

the only way i see finding that oil leak is completely clean the engine to be able to see where the leak is coming from. could be a simple gasket or oring but starting from clean is the only way

I had similar 'wetness' on my new-to-me 996tt. Tech said it was oil in the intake housings, which he drained & no more has appeared. He was not concerned that oil had accumulated there...
