Default Fuel pump line repair

With the help of the guys that posted photos of the DIY, I went to replace a bad FP only to find the outlet rubber lines had burst.
Easy fix with the recommended Gates submersible lines from NAPA.
Pumped all the old gas out and filled with ethanol free premium.

Job went well, but there is plastic dual line retainer that snaps onto the bottom of outlet bonnet. This had broken off and was in the bottom of the tank.
Is this retainer necessary? The hoses snap tight without the clip.
Easy to replace, but looks like a hard part to find.
Thanks to all, I saved $500 on a new FP..
