Default IPD PLENUM HELP broke my intermediate piece on top of stock plenum

I broke the stupid plastic piece off the top of the stock plenum trying to get the stupid #16 check valve removed. At 1st I was like ya now it will be easy to replace the valve. I just need to replace the piece. Except the stupid plastic part is 200 bucks at sunset. So I have opted to install a 68mm IPD plenum.

Questions:

There are three small hoses on the stock plenum on the front left side when facing the plenum. Does it matter what hose goes where. The reason I ask is on the IPD the L nipple is in position 1 on my diagram where as the vertical L nipple on the stock plenum seems to be in the middle position (labeled #2 on the diagram)

Does it matter what position those hose go on??? I would imagine that the 3 vac hoses that attach to the IPD will dictate which goes where. Meaning that I’ll have to put the vertical hose in whatever position is available on the new IPD.

But does it matter which horizontal hose goes where on the new IPD. Cause the position of the L nipple is in a different location on the IPD.

Question #2
Do I really need to take out the diverted valves to replace the plenum. It doesn’t look like they’ll be in the way if I lower the motor 3 or so inches.

Hope that makes sense. Help me out there all you swell fellas))))

thanks in advance!!!!

It shouldn't matter where you place those lines. It looks like there are just three holes into the plenum with standard fittings threaded in. If you really wanted to you could unscrew them and switch them around, but no reason to. Can't answer your second question as I've never replaced the plenum, but removing the diverter values is pretty easy and quick.

I'd just keep the sock piece and call it done.
If IPD can't answer those questions for you why'd they say their part is an improvement?

You will probably encounter many unwanted adventures with maintaining your Turbo over the coming years. No need to create an adventure for no good reason.

Thanks I see that now from the diagrams. Oh well I’m gonna go for it and install the IPD.

Wish me luck

Default plenum removal

Got’r out. Took about 1/2 hour when you lower the motor. Didn’t take out diverters or oil filter housing. Maybe I was just luck

Do you think the car runs any stronger with the IPD?

there is absolutely no doubt ( for me ) as to the increase in mid range torque ( aka "grunt" ) with an ipd over the stock plenum. i have a lowly 68mm ipd, but it's noticeably improved mid range delivery.
