Installed RSS Semi-solid transmission mount

Installed RSS Semi-solid transmission mount
so some people were wondering what would happen re: cabin noise if the transmission mount were replaced before installing the motor mounts.
As the title suggests, I installed the RSS transmission mount first so that we could know. I can confirm that there is a lot more cabin noise after the install. There is humming when the transmission shifts. There is also a noticeable increase in shudders when driving but not at an amount unbearable. That being said, I think I would prefer having a OEM transmission mount vs the semi-solid if that means reducing the noise and shivers.

Trans mounts will do that. A proven setup for low nvh is RSS Tarmac Engine mounts and 997 new trans mount. Did this in mine and its perfect. May be worth a swap. The engine mount is totally worth it though.

absolutley. ive had stiffer mounts in my other car and it worked well, just more nvh. To each their own. O.P. If you dont like the RSS Engine mounts and 997 trans mount, go back to stock because your going down a path that will just upset you.

Replacing the 996 mount with the 997 is a bit of labor, right? Do you need to drop the engine/trans? I need to do something with mine, was thinking of simply going w/ the FF insert.

Nice. I'm still trying to put that off as long as I can.

My experience also, with motor & trans mounts from Torque Solutions... significant increase in noise and vibration. But the more 'solid' feel of the car in cornering and transitions is a good tradeoff.

Understand that for sure. Its almost like a band-aid thst you just need to rip off. Just do it and add some other good stuff in there while its down. Worked out well when I did it last year. $0 spent on fixing anything this year. Everything was addressed when we had the motor down. Hopefully care free for a while.
