Default Obd II splitter

I have a device (navdy) using the obd port for power and data.

Is it okay to use a splitter and support two devices?

i am exploring if I can add a cobb AP but keeping my Navdy. Can it give enough power with no issue in the operation of these two devices?

It will give enough power, but obd is very picky if 2 devices are connected, only one usually works. I have yet to find a splitter that only provides one way operation.

Maybe I am missing something, but it appears that navdy only uses the obdii port for power. You could easily buy another obdii cable and just wire it into the fuse panel right below the obdii port to power the navdy and then you would have access for the cars obdii port for the cobb AP.

A while back I was testing a non-OBD2 vehicle trip logger against an OBD2 vehicle trip logger and used an OBD2 Y cable. The non-OBD2 trip logger just used power from the connector it did not perform any OBD2 communication.

The Y-cable looked something like this:

Amazon Amazon

While the above link is to an Amazon site I don't think the cable I used came from Amazon. One of the techs at the office bought the cable I don't know from where but probably from one of the suppliers we use for all our cable needs and other lab equipment.

If you're using the COBB to pull logs and data you want to know is correct, only use one at a time.

I asked the same question and was told possible signal degradation to a logging device could result in inaccuracy or less performance.
