Not feeling the 991TT. Reason being that the 996TT is so damn fast as it is, and I never even get to tap into it all, what would I do with an even faster car(?!). Besides get tickets.

Not me. I couldn't imagine trying to fix a 15 year-old 991TTS. The 996TT is complicated enough.

I think you made the right choice. To the average person the Macan turbo probably is a chick car. To the Porsche people, that’s an impressive automobile.

15 yr old 991TT: Rear wheel steering sounds awesome. But I wonder what the repair and alignment will be in 15 years (or much less)

A stock 991 with more comforts and technology would be the perfect daily imo.
Plus it gets better gas mileage than my M5 and the break-even using that justification would only take 73 years @~10k miles a year!
I am with you, skipping the 997. I am will be going 991.2 Carrera S with power kit in a year or two. I like the narrow body 991.

The Valet in Tahoe referred to my 2011 Cayenne S as the "Mom Porsche".

Totally agree - but that's why you'll be able to pick up a 991tt for $45,000 in 2029. And by then the free market will have engineered how to fix all of 991tt's flaws for a reasonable price (ala Dave's Rennkit). So, I'm saving my nickels and dimes starting right now, not only for the buy-in price, but also for Dave's Renn-4-wheel-steering-system-upgrade-kit (Dave, you need to get cracking on a name for that).

How bigs your 4 year old? I’ve had wife, 5 and 4 year old on 1,000 mike road trips. I’ve had 4, 5, and 6 month old on 500 mike road trips?

I do not recommend strapping a 5 year old next to you for long trips or it’ll give you acid flashbacks

It's not that my son is particularly big, but my wife is 5'8" and has long legs.

I have no interest either, so there are at least two that feel that way.
