ok thanks.

I think I will give it a go and get the stock 997. I did not realize that I could substitute. Never have liked 2nd gear with 996 and throws are awkward.

Any step by steps on installation?

Throw is the same on the shifter. The GT3 has a shorter lever on the transmission. So no need for a longer throw on the shifter.

I used the DIY from PelicanParts. Not difficult at all. Search for 997 shifter, lots of good reads.
