Funny. I would try using stop-leak in the spoiler rams as a stop-gap measure. The stop-leak remains very localized in a small system. Cleaning it is not a terrible issue. In contrast, stop leak throughout a very large, convoluted coolant system such as in a water cooled 911 - never.

In a worst case, with the hydraulics your spoiler rams would not function properly whereas with the cooling system, you are compromising the engine cooling.

Not trying to bust your chops. Just pointing out what I consider to be errors in judgement. Save money and be a cheapskate - just make sure being a cheapskate in the short-term doesn't cost more in the long-run.

Noted..
I did use the liquid form of stop leak..vs powder.
Prestone.
Had it in the rads for almost a year. no symptoms of malfunction what so ever.. drove over 7,000 miles. No gunk in the coolant reservoir.
Yes it is old 50-50 argument.. and yes I am replacing the rads end of the month.
With rad stop leak.. I had Prestone name to rely on?
I also have a R129 SL500 with 14 pistons for the softtop.. had friends, used stop leaks on them, with horrible results as stop leak eats into the Oring.

Prestone: I dunno - I've lived in Europe too long. Prestone did a lot of advertising (who needs Prestone...) but is it a serious product or just a product of marketing?

I don't consider stop-leak of any sort to be a truly serious product, though. Leaks are stopped by repairing the cause.

For under USD 400 you will have like new, for next 15 years.
Considering the title of this thread, my spoiler stop-leak fix cost me $20

Still sitting on all these new parts. Not installed.
It's been exactly two years now having Preston Radiator stop leak working fine and plan to keep on driving, until my needle starts to go up or smell the antifreeze.

My spoiler stop leak application has lasted 3 years, spoiler still goes up and down normally but i am getting error light now. I think it might not be going all the way up. Already checked/replaced the switches. Time for a re-bleed/flush with more stop leak. My re-crimped weeping radiators have been going for 2 years now. Going to bite the bullet and replace all three soon.
