Carlo

I just got my 996 turbo back from the shop today and went to install the wheels on the car, I had forgestar make we a set with the correct offsets for a 996 running winter tires, the 10" rear fits fine but the front is really really close to the shock collar like 1mm or less, and then when
I tuen the wheels the front and reps contact the fender liners before half turn!
I spent over $3000 on this set up and am not happy with this I can't even run the fronts at all.

its lot like it just rubs at full turn its like before half tuen and its front and rear fender liners of the front wheels

Are you running stock suspension? If you are then the tire sizes are fine. Your problem is with the front wheels. The offset is wrong. Contact Forgestar.

The front wheels on my 19 set are only 8.5 inch wide so pictures will not help.

the offset is the only way it could be they have made plenty like this, its the winter tires, that was why I asked you. the front tires are too tall

now i have wasted $3600

If your Forgestsr front wheels are 8.5" and my Giovanna front wheels are 8.5" wide why do my 245/35 - 19 tires fit with room to spare while yours do not? The answer is because the offsets of your front wheels are different than mine.

Also, are you running stock suspension?

the offset is the same offset that make for anyone who uses 19: wheels on a 996 and is the only way it could be it could not move in or out offset wise.

touches on the front and back and would rub on the spring collar if It could have driven

Not all 996 model use the same offests. Widebodies are different.

First off are you running stock suspension?

Second , if your 8.5 inch front wheels do only have +40 offset that is not enough and that is why the tires are rubbing. All other 8.5 inch wheels out there for widebodies have at least +53 offset. Contact ForgeStar to see if they have wheels with more offset or buy a set of 12mm spacers off eBay. But keep in mind you will need longer lug bolts to use spacers.

I am running stock suspension, not even lowered
the wheels could not have any more offset without the inside of the tire rubbing on the suspension. I think you are confused about offset, you reduce offset by adding spacers not increase it.

the outside edge of the tire is flush with the fender.

What kind of tires are you run nigh Calro , I think the issue here is the winter tires tread is taller than your (I assume summer tire)

I have a set of Dunlops all seasons on my car. The specs say they are the same diameter as you tires.

If I were you I would give the 12mm spacers a try. Maybe you only need 5mm or 9mm spacers. Either way those ForgeStar wheels are set too deep in the wheel wells.
