Question Magnetic Oil Drain Plugs

Does anyone know if there are Porsche part numbers to fit 996 Turbo oil drain plugs? I am talking about the:

2 turbo oil reservoir drain plugs
1 engine oil sump/reservoir drain plug
1 engine oil crankcase drain plug

I know other Porsches have magnetic drain plugs with oem part numbers that will fit the 996 turbo, but Porsche does not provide the numbers in the 996 turbo parts catalog.

Thanks !!!

Just get a billet one from L&N for the main drain plug. Be careful, the torque spec is a low 19 ft.lbs.

Waste of money. First off a big portion of the engine is aluminum, secondly the filter will filter out any metal plus hopefully u dont have any metal. Just open up the oil filter on every engine oil change!

I agree that the case is all aluminum. Our 993 block (in the turbo engine) does not have the IMS failure issue, but know lots of ferric metal floats around. I'm glad the Mahle filter is that good. I may get the sump/reservoir plug only (with magnet) as a safety net. Thanks to all ...

The 996tt doesnt have IMS issues totally different design. Its a Mezger GT1 race engine derivative.
For piece of mind order a Blackstone oil analysis kit, for a detailed analysis of metals and oil life!

+1 for Blackstone Labs.

Also, for what its worth, Blackstone themselves have said that magnetic plugs make little to no difference in metal levels and have proven it with lab tests.

Agreed, magnetic drain plugs are pointless with"modern" engines. If you see anything show up on one it is already too late. The filter does everything that can be done.
