Unsprung mass sucks. Even a quarter pound makes a difference.

We're aware of the ill-effects associated with unsprung mass, but knew the question would at minimum beg for a conversation. Compared to the high-dollar $6k/set wheels, we're not the lightest, but we're far from the most expensive. Between our quality, strength, various off-the-shelf fitments, lightweight, and budget friendly nature, I figure it was worth gauging the community's thoughts.

Thank you both for sharing your preferences.

Cheers!

+1 and caps end up being track debris from those who forget to ditch them before an event.

Agreed. Ditch the caps. I think the wheel actually is nicer looking without them anyways.

no caps well eliminates the street-use side of the market, seen what a capless wheel does to the drivestubs/axles/nuts...
centre caps don't come off on track if done correctly...there's a reason why the factory caps fit slightly 'loose' and have vents.

Paint or Rub Gibbs oil on your nuts.

it's not my nuts that are the issue it's when everyone else brings their problems to me

of course, if the only intended market is solely track-use then no caps make sense... dual purpose/street then caps are 'needed'

I figured that was the case, frozen axles go well with dried up plastic electrical connectors in hard to reach areas!

I had an X5 towed to a shop after I was unable to get one of the front axles swapped out with all the oil, hammer, puller and torch at my place...certainly don't envy being a mechanic in rusty areas of the world.

Is there an ETA for Porsche fitment APEX wheels?
I'm ready, let's do it.

I'm track nut like most of us, but I think the wheels should have the option to run center caps or not.

I'm just here to help alleviate the situation...

I expect to have our pre-orders set up and a group buy live by late 2017/early 2018. Wheels will likely be in enthusiast's hands by late Q1 2018; ideally before the start of the track season.

Thanks for your support! I'm looking forward to sharing more good news soon.

Thanks for your continual assistance, Jason!

To answer the community's outcry in support of center-cap accommodation, it's safe to say that they'll be incorporated in our wheel(s). Though the final center-cap decision is still TBD.

...Survey is still live!

Hopefully those nuts belong to a BMW application and not the Porsche wheels

sorry coming late to the conversation. Both the wheels you have proposed look great. What would be the difference in a wheel designed for the track vs for the street?

Quality caps with metal retaining rings fit pretty well. I don't get the statement though, how on earth no centercaps would affect street use. I haven't used them for many years w/out issue. I do paint the stub area as it just looks better IMO
