What additonal pieces do you have accompanying the Ohlins? Swaybars, end links, LCAs etc?

I have H&R swaybars, Tarrett drop links, monoballs.

the car drives very very comfortably on the road. I was shocked at how smooth the setup is. but when you get after it, the car stays level and planted and the capabilities are astounding. Grippy tires help of course.

Hi Guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on Ohlins for my car. Question for the tech geniuses - will there be any issues with my 996 GT2 wheels? My turbo is still AWD so need the 996TT kit. As you know, these wheels are 8.5"/12.5", 315 rears. The car does have GT2 fender liners, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
Joe

Thanks - do you know what the difference is in spec between the GT2 and Turbo units?

front suspension is different design 996tt vs GT2, so unit will be physically different to match... I'd have to look up spring rates to see if they are different at all.
For simplicity, buy the proper Turbo kit

Yeah, definitely going with the Turbo kit. Just want to ensure there aren't any up front modifications to the kit needed by Ohlins to accommodate the rest of the setup. Last question - how is the rear adjusted? I recall a bit of a difficult logistics situation to get to the ****? and front is just underneath, right?

you shouldn't have any issues, bolt on and go, fronts are adjusted at bottom of struts, rear adjusted at the top (remove carpet piece to adjust)

My R&T set has been sitting in my basement for couple months now. They will be replacing my current Bilstein/H&R setup. I REALLY like the Bilstein with H&R springs so can't wait to try the Ohlins.

Why'd you decide to ditch the Bilstein/H&R setup if you liked it so much? I know everyone raves about the R&T, though.

Bought a barely used set from my buddy at an incredible price after he ended up selling his 996tt. I didn't go out searching for a set because I was not happy with my current setup. It was just the price was really good and like you said, everyone raves about them, so I decided to upgrade.

Rates are different, and when I was researching coilovers I found to make up for the different size of the shock mounting point on the upright they supply a sleeve in the turbo kit that fits over the shock body that isn't included in the GT kit. The sleeve is removable if decides to go with GT3 uprights (good luck finding those though).
