Good info.

One thing's obvious, asking prices are higher than they were a year or two ago...

that's because of the air cooled turbo's being unattainable.

996 turbos are very fast cars a lot of car for the money

Yes, even compared to a few months ago it seems. Not many in the 40's anymore according to this survey.. Average seems to be 50-55k and up.

Interesting. Air cooled turbos have been softening in price recently as well.

Thank you for this, confirms my gestalt having watched and bought over the past 15 months.

I think the 996tt has gotten positive press from bloggers like DeMuro and Tavarish, and being featured as a 'Porsche to buy' in Panorama and PCA online have all contributed.

Maybe softening from the peak, but still more than double what they were just a few years ago.

1991 964 52k just sold for $93.5k http://bringatrailer.com/listing/199...4-turbo-coupe/

correctly modded air cooled are going extremely well also, 1969 911T RSR tribute is at $110k with 5 days still to go. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-porsche-911-3/

imho been there done that, owned many air cooled stock/modified turbo and non, 996tt offers so much more and is more of a beast, it's crazy how these older ones are doing in the market, just a matter of time before others catch on to the 996tt.

I'm in the market for a 996 (preferably a Turbo) as well.

Thanks
