Default 996TT Spacer recommendation

All,

I’d be grateful for recommendations on what thickness spacer to use front and back on my 996 turbo. I’d like to widen the stance a bit but nothing too silly. The wheels are:
8.5x19 ET49
11x19 ET40

Also does the quality of the spacer brand make any difference/any recommendations on decent spacers? The car will see some track work and high speed runs.

Many thanks,
BJ

I fitted FVD hub centric 15mm to the rear and 7mm to the front. Rear looked much better, in my view. Didn't think much of the front, so took them back off, after noticing a minor vibration through the steering.
Sorry can't help with a comparison of other brands, hopefully others can chime in.

I just bought the 8mm and 15mm kit from ECS, was very impressed with the quality.

The main thing to look for is that the ones you get are hub centric so they stay aligned properly and so does your wheel.

I went with Porsche recommendation. 17mm rear and 5mm front. Looks very substantial on stock wheels. I think my spacers are RUF.

How do some of you manage to run so wide spacers without rubbing?

All thankyou for the advice/info, much appreciated.

Being in the UK I think I will go with FVD's 15/7 combo as they do a full kit in black (I have black wheels).

So from the above, will I definitely have to roll the fenders with these spacers?

Many thanks

What size tires are you running? Rolled fenders or willing to roll fenders? With rolled fenders you can reply make it look aggressive.

Hi, I'm running the tyres that came with the car (8.5" and 11"). Currently 235/35/19 and 295/30/19. MPSS.

I'm happy to roll the fenders. Will probably end up doing Powdrhound's GT2 liner tip when I get some proper 9"/12" wheels

I found by fitting spacers it did change the ride and handling ....
I went back to stock after a short while.
Was just 10mm all around.
