^ Rob unintentionally "talked me into" trying the falkens in the 315/30. i was seriously doubtful, but only because the last time i had run falkens was on my 993 in '96. epic fail. i said ( back then ) "what the falken was i thinkin?". i'm no less demanding now, it's just the tires are greatly improved.

Am sure Falken learned a lot over those years from their 911 and other Motorsports programs

OK guys... Now I'm undecided. Falken Azenis RT615K+ or Yoko AD052?

Yoko's are less expensive and stickier.

Falken's are longer lasting and perhaps better in cold and wet?

Yes, I know it depends on the use... But honestly 2019 could have 1 track day or 10 track days, not sure yet. Zero autocross, just not my thing. But I also don't put many miles on the Turbo, maybe a 3-4K a year, so tire longevity isn't such a huge deal unless burned up on track days.

Flip a coin. Might as well try the Yoks first, than the Falkens?

wow, very similar tread pattern to the OG Pilot Sport Cups which were pretty good dry, not so much on wet

Man, I hope the 052's are still cheap by the time I burn off my current NT01's next year. They look serious.

Well I pulled the trigger on a set of the Falkens today and will report back on my thoughts. Unfortunately, December in Colorado isn't ideal "Extreme Performance Summer" tire test weather

good for you. I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. to your point, the "summer perf tire" category doesn't offer much in the way of wet weather traction tires. but i'd bet the rt615k would be as good as you'll get. anyone ever hydroplane on r888's or nt01's? knows what i mean lol.

add: btw if you DO like 'em? thank Rob lol

Just a quick follow up... Went for the Falkens, only one real drive on them so far, on a cold day, even some residual snow in the dark canyon corners. Seemed very neutral and happy with the decision. Supposed to do a track day tomorrow, might be illuminating.

So just a FYI for everyone. The Yoko A052 just disappeared from Tire racks site, in both GT2 and Turbo sizing. Getting a little nervous. Hopefully its just a sourcing/demand issue being spring. I have an email into tirerack inquiring...
