Mines an automatic, so that's not really a problem I worry about.

So since mines going in for this on Friday and I'd like to get it correct...
Isn't the ashtray and switch surround piece supposed to be painted too?

No one has a factory painted center and can comment? I'm dropping it off in the morning and I'd like it to be done right.

When I get mine painted the ashtray/surround will be painted. A simple google image search shows the majority of painted center consoles with it painted. I'd say paint it.

My console is painted Arctic silver from the factory, and all the trim is black. I don't have an ashtray, but have a non-smoker tray.

Do you like it that way or would you prefer it the ashtray area painted?

I don't have an ashtray, but have a non-smokers cubby which is black. If your interior is black, I wouldn't paint it. But, if not black, I would paint it to match the console.

To close this for the benefit of anyone else that's looking to see how they turn out - since pictures of painted centers seem to be thin on the ground. It came back looking like this:

Picture is off my phone in crappy light. It looks really nice in there. Way better than the scratched up plastic it replaced.

Looks great, and this was done by a local body shop correct? And if you don't mind sharing what it cost?

$600 turnkey. He discounted it because he's done stuff for me before and I paid cash.

For those with covered leather console not from the factory, where did you get the work done?

Thanks -
