With motor & tranny in the car. If so what is the secret magic work to get to this thing? How far do I lower the motor tranny??? Any magic tools that can help?

TIA

depends how big your arms/hands are...don't have to lower at all, but more you can the better.
Do it all by feel

Yea, it's the bolt that is between the starter and the slave, and getting a tools there.

Thanks

Come in from the left driveshaft hole long arm make it easier, or if you lower the trans mount slightly you can run 1/4" extensions to get you there from front of car. I've done it both ways.

Thanks for the pointers,

Ended up removing the starter, and lowering the motor just a bit, the starter side bolt was easy but the driver side bolt was a huge PITA to remove.

Discovered that by working directly under the tranny encircling the tranny allowed me to more easily work by feel and that helped.

Getting the new on in place was a bit more difficult - I used a much longer bolt on the starter side to start the process and get thing positioned and to compress the piston, then I did the driver's side, and then went back and replaced the longer bolt with the proper one...

I think that when I had it last apart everything was out of the car and I probably used Locktite...

Yes you want to be 'hugging' the trans

The sad part, was a week ago I had the starter and half shafts out - could have saved a lot of aggravation...

While changing my slave cylinder and clutch hose I discovered practical solution to avoiding dripping brakefluid while opening the connections.

I have an extra cap for the brakefluid reservoir which has a small hose fitting in it. I also have a large syringe I use whenever I have to remove extra brakefluid from reservoir. So I used small silicon hose to connect the syringe to the cap and pulled slight vacuum into the system. No more dripping and capping the openings.

I'll certainly try that next time when I remove brake calipers out of the car.
