Interesting. I literally had 4 different exhaust set ups on my old modded 996 tt, and the "used" fabspeed twin can set up was IMHO the best sounding of them all. Not crazy loud, but as for tune, I thought it was the best.

Which systems did you try ?
Drop the cats 1st before you change it and see if you like the sound.. It may be just enough for what you looking for without dealing with obnoxious drone..
You may want to try our 996TT/GT2 3.0 X-Pipe. Truly incredible sound with many extremely satisfied customers. Also, if you have the time, check out the testimonials link below for some unbiased forum member feedback....

Literally straight pipes from turbos straight out. But, be prepared, the sound is wicked. I know all about that and when in boost nothing compares.
