Just to be clear, studs have been broken by people torquing at both 98 ft-lbs and 118 ft-lbs. Common denominators that I have seen are running Hoosiers and speed. The faster the folks are going, the more studs are getting broken. Good idea to go back to the good old lug bolts in the rear at least.

People must do what works for them. In 5 years and 200+hrs of hard track use I've broken broken all kinds of suspension parts but not a single stud. Those who know me will tell you I'm not easy on equipment. I stick with parts and procedures that myself and others I know use with success..

2 sets of torque wrenches now Marked different colors. Ed et al know . Specs are in manuals . GT4, Cayman S, Carrera GTS, etc. I checked them all. Looks like from 2016 on I think. Tech has all info by now.

So - which torque value am i getting torqued to when I go thru tech? New or old?

And do the volunteers working the line know all this? I would be amazed if they did.

I understand whats in my manual. You said they have two different torque wrenches on hand with the different values. I'm questioning how the volunteers will know which wrench to use on which car. I don't think they will. So i'll continue to decline and torque them myself.

They did a complete review I'm sure. Many clubs don't do a tech like PCA anymore- Liability I think. I know there is a chart for pitch , diameter etc for torque values. Looking for it. Newer cars all 118. Older with Studs I'd increase. I've been using 100 for a few years. Studs and steel lugs. at 96 I had to re torque in AM. took a few lbs. 100 seems to work for me. I took them by surprise with my info . KNUTE never wrong in his life- this was his first time I'll give Ed a call and see where they are at..
