We have a 6GT3 at the shop that has RSR wide body panels on it. 11 inch front wheels, 13 inch rear wheels. I have driven once on track on R888's and it had unbelievable amounts of grip. The moment you left pit lane you could feel the car was wider in the track.

With the car lowered, it looked totally badass. very RSR looking, but somewhat more subtle.
Like this 7GT3?

Are you not buying a cup car and moving to the cup forum? 😂😂 lol
LOL happy to be the bad influence. I was going to get the cup then the guy went and sold it to someone else(!) so happy to be sticking over here for a bit longer 😋

Just to stir the pot a bit more, here is the car I was talking about. I think you should do it

The pictures, esp the RSR is very cool! Had a chance to get some 996 RSR flairs for relatively cheap money that I now regret not getting. Going the whole route is way more than I want to spend on the body esp after bodywork + paint + rims (3 sets of rims would be needed, or at least barrel halves) + who knows what else.

I really just want something small that allows me a little more track width in the rear, I expect my new-to-me rear LCA RSR monoballs inner sections

We are glad you stayed, that RSR looks great. Can probably save a bit on cost due to my car is wrapped. No need for paint. Hmmm.

But, after installing a RUF exterior package on my 993tt I know to well how much time it takes to make these things fit right.

Who made the parts? and what prompted this?

Ray,

rear flares and front fender vents are CF from ZIMSpeed, 996 RSR ones.
Front hood and front bumper are CF from anonymous Belgain manufacturer.
Front flares are GRP from one German vendor, generic 993 (Yes!) pieces. I did not want to buy expensive 993 CF parts without knowing their fitment to 996's fenders. It seems that the curvature is similar. Just some trimming at both ends is required. fenders are still steel ones, while there is neither GRP nor CF fenders available for mkI if one would like to keep OEM Litronic headlights.
Rear fender IC scoops are finally steel in RUF style.

As you might remember my car is a Carrera with steroids (=turbo engine and nowadays GT2/Cup transmission), so I just added some botox and silicone...
...hopefully I'll get some aerogrip and surely some mechanical grip while front and rear tracks are widened more than 10 cm (4"). Wheels are 10x18 et 37 and 11x18 et 5 (I have parts for 12,5x18 et 36 wheels, but we don't have wider than 295-18 semis in Europe). Front LCAs have 20mm shims on both sides plus 997's wider inner ends. Strut tops are 8mm further outboard on both sides and "not rotated", so minimum camber is around 3 deg.

I'll make a thread when it's finished. I just did some crude fitting of front end myself, my paint & body guy is doing the job. It's about 200 kms away, so I'm getting a continous flow of pics....looks good so far.

But there's one thing I did myself. I got tired of Carrera's small 64l fuel tank, so I replaced with GT3's 89l tank. Some metal work was required while frunk's rear wall is completely different.

Yep. We were lucky. Never in winter and slow gradual rolls vs. "let's get this done in 1 try!"
If it was a re-paint in lacquer you were screwed. They had best been done beforehand.
