Mine was my only car until last Fall. I've put nearly 120K of real daily driven miles on it — so far.

For me, I couldn't see getting rid of it for anything else.

Upkeep has not been bad. Tires and oil being the bulk of the cost.

M2 sounds sweet, but I would be worried that it would not have the same sticking appeal as a GT3.

That, and long term I think the car will appreciate in value.

Wow. Hope that you are still happy in 3 years when the M2 is worth $15k and the GT3 is worth the same or more than you parted with it for.

In the same vein, if you let your GT3 go now, you will never EVER be able to buy that combination of PPP, performance, price and panache.

Sure you can get more performance for more money, you might even pay less for a 997 or GT4 in a couple years but you won't be able to buy the same/similar 996 GT3 and get the GT3's PPP

Hah...I mean, I sold the 6GT3 6 months ago...so that is water under the bridge at this point. I wasn't in love with the car...it was a great car to drive...but I really disliked the interior and the car just felt like a waste of normal city streets (I felt like I was beating it up for no reason every time I took it out and wasn't going to the track)

Hit the canyons in the M2 today...it's not even close in terms of performance, but its a great car...still breaking it in. No regrets.

Good. So we won't have to tie you to the mast after all.

Congrats on the purchase! White looks great. It doesn't make sense to own a car you don't use. Hopefully the M2 is versatile enough for you to use it regularly. I just can't get over how vague the steering is on modern BMWs, though I have not driven an M2. Hopefully it is better.

First electric power steering car...definitely feels NOTHING like the 6GT3 (but that was to be expected)

Living in downtown L.A., I'm surprised Josh lasted as long as he did with the 6GT3.

Josh, were you driving on the 5 North last weekend around Commerce? Saw one of these next to me and it looked bulgy and mean! Congrats on the M2.

Might have been two weeks ago in the evening. I remember thinking, "What is this beefy looking car?" Haven't seen many M2's. Looks awesome in white.
