Great deal, especially if you buy them in pairs. How long can I keep a new set of NT 01's in storage before I use them? I have a set I'm using now with 65% life left in them. Probably would need store a new set for a year. Is that advisable, or do they time out from lack of use? TIA guys

I have run a set that was 2 1/2 years old and did not notice any difference.
They were stored in a spare room inside the house.

Thx Tom and thanks for the heads up on the deal. I'm buying a set today

Check date code

Chris,

How are you? Hey, when you order the new tires, ask that they pull the most recent date codes as often times they may have already sat for a year. I made the mistake of not doing that and when I received them, I was disappointed they were already old, so I sent them back and got the "newer" date coded ones you now have:-).

This older date codes is especially true for a low volume tire like the NT01/Pilot Sport Cups as they will run them in batches. By asking for newer tires upfrort, it could get you an extra year. But either way, I dont think it's a big deal if you keep them stored properly.

Thanks Kevin. I am loving the set I picked up from you. I now understand there is a different set up that works even better. How are you liking the 3.8 RS? We should hit the track soon. Thinking of doing a Friday test day soon at Willow, big track.

Anybody still see GT3 sizes?

kfitzpat9 03-05-2015 06:35 PM

Love the 2010 GT3RS but do miss the "rawness" of the 6GT3. But, like the Oracle (Mooty) stated, rawness doesn't necessarily mean it's a better car. Regardless, I still miss that car.

Kevin, It's such a pure, complete driving experience, unadulterated, and totally alive. Best P-car I've ever driven or owned!

Josh, I spoke to Discount Tire and the 245/40 and 305/35 set-up for our GT3's are backordered (likely sitting on ships in the LA harbor awaiting the end to the strike), so no discount. Current price for this set is about $1,150 plus/minus...

I doubt the date code would be an issue, as the 6GT3 sizes have frequently been out of stock since last summer. Get them while you can.

That's actually a good thing...I just paid the CC off from the last round

Yeah these tires have likely just been manufactured

TomGT3 03-06-2015 12:01 AM

Inventory was low when I ordered. They had to ship from the west.
They shipped today, but I run 315 in the rear so it may have made a difference.
