Default Track day at The Ridge

I had a great day with Shay at the track. We were at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA today at an event with no run groups and open lapping all day. So much fun!

As I'm posting this, I realize that it's been almost 10-1/2 years of owning the GT3. Nearly 41,000 low-track miles.

No major maintenance. The only time the engine was out was to have the coolant lines fixed. The paint job at 9 years was pretty epic

Now, that said as things aged out, they were replaced with better parts like a Guards diff when the diff went, when the suspension was about 8 years old it was replaced with Tarret/ERP, JRZ RS-PRO. After a bunch of cup rotors I went with the Brembo brake upgrade. When the engine was out for the coolant lines, a clutch/flywheel.

At this point, the 996 has all the usual stuff.

I can't wait to get out there. Recently moved to area and just bought a lake cabin on Mason Lake... very close to The Ridge!

The brembo brake upgrade, is that rotors upgrade or the entire front brake upgrade? Do you feel any difference since both are 6 pot. Just rotors size different correct?

I had the AIM in the 996 one time last year and I was around 1:55 for a good lap. I'm not that fast.

I got the whole kit with hats and rotors for the front and rear. I notice that there's better initial bite and they cool more efficiently than the cup rotors and they're more consistent throughout a session.

How do you compare your 6gt3 and 7gt3 on the track? Purely on the fun and satisfying factor

Beautiful car! Love the wheels. Looks like we're running similar laptimes - 1:54.6 w/ Nitto's. I really like the Ridge, need to get back there this season. Was it the Metropolitan Detail day? I'm on the invite list, just need to get out to some events!
