I agree with the analysis here and I am kind of in the middle. My race car, when I raced, was an E30 M3 so low power, light weight, totally momentum. After I got out of racing I got a couple of Lotus Exiges, again, lowish power, light weight. On the street I always felt underpowered and down here the tracks are all horsepower tracks so I was outgunned there, too.
Also, I have 2 kids who wanted to go for rides as well so I ended up with my Turbo and did some track mods there. This car is a blast on the street but on track it is heavy and I don't consider it reliable. It is still fast but feel is just not there. I am very biased to the 7_3 because I feel the 6_2 might suffer the unreliability that my Turbo suffered: namely boost issues, coolant, etc. Also, the 6_2's are a bit older.
Only other option is wait for something else. Porsche has killed me with their automatic only crap. And even though I love 6_3's, I ain't spending $70k on one. Not worth it to me.

Keep the turbo and your finger on the trigger for a 6 Gt3 @ $55k. You won't get anyone into the back of any kind of GT so the kids will be walking. If 2 really nice options aren't in the budget - ask this crowd about the 997.1 vs 997.2 GT3. Seems there's some data there to consider too.
