additional power for GT2
well i could use it in the straights... just like cocaine, i think i need more... HP and T.
i know i've said it doesn't need any more [i've changed my mind] but what ideas/experience do you guys have adding power to GT2???? if you blend smoothly out of the corner you could easily use another 100 HP/100 T on my uphill short straights here in the Sa Mo Mtns.

Watt: I am still in the break-in period, but hard to imagine "needing" more power. Also pretty hard to imagine how often you could take advantage of it. Lighten the car up a bit? This I can see. But for whatever reason, I am not into modding the motor. Most everything represents a compromise - hard to get something without giving something up. I am willing to accept the compromise as Porsche established it for this car.
This is no knock on others who go in a different direction - just my deal for now.

I decided to go with the EVO Stage 4GT. (A birthday present to myself... Works out to be little over 15 HP per year!)
After having driven the test mule at EVO, there was no question. It drives better than a stock TT in day-to-day traffic... yet accelerates faster than anything else I've driven, on or off track.

Watt has already driven Wilber's car, which has the Garrett GT ball bearing turbos back when it was running "only" 550RWHP. These flow more air than the K-26 setup.
I don't think it is a good idea to infuse too much power into the GT2. Maybe around 500-550 should do the trick. You should see how scary Wilber's car is under full throttle! Watt describes it as a '79 Turbo with more power... and that's with AWD.
However, I do agree with Watt that the GT2 could be even more exciting with a bit more power/torque. Hey watt, your GT2 is pretty fast but the reason why you pulled away from my M5 like you did yesterday is partially because you got on the throttle sooner than I did. It is definitely faster than my car, but by about 3rd gear the GT2 was keeping about the same distance (a few car lengths ahead) or pulling only slightly from the M5. I am sure the GT2 would have started walking away from me again above 90 or so. But this shouldn't surprise you too much, because the M5 (stock) is 13.2 or so, the GT2 is about low 12's. With the mods I have on right now, my car should be capable of high 12's with a proper launch so the results seem to be commensurate from the way I saw your car accelerate yesterday. But of course it's hard to tell, since I was following you the whole time rather than being side by side.
I know my M5 isn't stock, but the point is that the GT2 could be a tad bit faster. You should see the way Bill S.'s 993 Ruf Turbo R accelerates. If your GT2 had that kind of pull, you would be set. 0-150mph in 15 seconds!

Yes, my car is some 750hp heavier, but as speed increases this is less important. You have about 40 more peak horse than I do (approx.) and about 80-90 more lb.-ft. of peak torque, but my M5's torque is somewhat flatter because it's NA.
but my point is that if my bmw pig can run high 12's and your car is running low 12's, your car could use more power!!!
by the way, i saw you on bundy + pico this am. Saw the car from about 1/4 mile away. Also, easy to spot you on the freeway yesterday from almost a mile away when I was trying to catch up to you on the 101. Speed yellow is certainly distinctive. Now all you need is Speed Yellow painted wheels and some gold exhaust tips and get ching bling to redo the GT3 seats in brown Louis Vuitton canvas.

I had the X50 TT..added the Ruf 550hp/580TQ. In your car? 250lbs less! Would be fantastic!
I am very happy with the spooling of the Turbos after Ruf modifies them. Very responsive.
I highly recommend the Ruf.

as I mentioned on the "other" board. Make sure to get turbos w/ little lag. There is nothing worse then full boost comming on in the middle of a corner!

Just pop in a chip, strip a little bit of weight, tack on some lighter wheels, and you will have a GT2 that will make you happy until you get rid of it in 3 months.
If you swap Turbos and do stuff like that you will ruin the delicate balance of the GT2. By the way, Wilber thinks a brain will be good enough too... since you already have K24s. He told me he has been trying to reach you for the last few days, but he's only gotten your voicemail. He will be in touch shortly.
