I just switched to the Nitto Nt05 setup in 245/40/18 and 295/35/18 for the street, no rubbing what so ever and the car has a ton more grip over the PS2s. Downside they are a little bit noisier and wet traction isn't quite as good but still very controlable. DiscountTireDiret had a special $100 off 2 tires with free shipping if purchased through eBay which got me a complete set for under $800. I love Michelins through and through but can't justify paying for PS2s anymore when the SuperSports are a lightyear better tire and cheaper in most fitments, just not currently offered in the OE 996 sizes.
996Twins anxious to hear how you like the Rivals, I'd looked at them for the street as well, but daily mine and the reviews I read said they were hell in the rain (something summer is going to deal me a lot of here).

Depends more on driving style. I use the Sumis on the street. I drive somewhat aggressively in the canyons, and have never overdriven them. So, why pay $2000 for a set of Michelins when a set of $800 tires will do. I've now gone through 3 sets of the Sumis with no issues; however, may go over to Kumhos next time.
