Will 245's Fit on 8.5" Front Wheels?
A friend has offered to sell me a set of Volk TE37 wheels, 8.5" x 18" front and 11" x 18" rear. I'm wondering if 245-40/18's will fit ok on the 8.5" fronts, or if I'd have to run the stock 235's on these wheels?
Thanks.
Thanks.

245 fits fine. I had 245s on 8s on my WRX. Yes, there are varying opinions on how much tire you can put on a given rim, but this is well within the bounds.

Recommended rim sizes for that tire are 8" to 9.5". Generally, I like to stay towards the high end of the range if possible, but 8.5 is fine (especially for the light end of a 911).

No issue with this setup. If you want to look at other options in the future you can use the calculator at Tire Rack.com or there is another great one at 1010tires.com that will allow you to compare different aspect ratios and how they affect ride height and tire circumference to keep from tripping up your ABS or other computers. good luck

The real ticket with NT01s would probably be 275s on the front though and 315s on the rear. On 10 and 12 inch wide rims. I think NJ-GT already did 275 / 335 on the 996 GT3 so an offset should exist to get that to work!
