Low mileage GT3 with only 2 oil changes?!?
I thought I found a prime example... let me know if running away is the right answer.
996 GT3: 2 owner (first owner passed away, second owner got really old and traded it in for a sedan), 22K miles, no mods. The non-Porsche dealer has copies of all the records and sent them over - I only saw TWO oil changes on record. It seems like it was driven fairly regularly and that they probably just followed the seemingly long service interval. Also - working on 2nd set of fronts and 3rd set of rear tires (MPS2).
Should this be avoided?

If they have the second owner's info, you might ask them to contact him and have him contact you, or give you permission to contact him. Point is, he may well have have a service or two done elsewhere. 2 oil changes in 22K miles seems like a long time. It would bother me if those were the actual change intervals, enough so that I wouldn't buy it. 4 years is a long time for oil to sit in a motor collecting moisture between changes.
The tire wear doesn't bother me.

It's not that it is 2 oil changes in 22K miles. It's that you are looking at only 2 oil changes in almost 10 years!
Service and maintenance is more important to me than miles or options every time. I personally wouldn't go near a car like that. When I bought my 6Turbo, I found what I thought was the perfect example. We got close to finishing the deal and when we asks for the service history we found that there was NO oil change ever done. We asked the owner. Do you know what he said for that 6 year old car that only had < 10K miles? Since he hadn't hit the rec'd 12K interval it wasn't due for an oil change yet and that the "oil change" light has yet to come on.

Thanks to everyone for confirming my suspicions - I'm still learning lots and RL members have been outstanding!
