Default New to me GT2 Complete Build and rescue of a Garage Queen.

From as early as I can remember I had a burning desire to own a Porsche, like most boys this dream got set aside for the responsibilities of life, family, and business. *Now as I grow older there is the opportunity to do exactly that and strive to build a perfect car. A car that is sure footed, fast, takes corners with confidence and inspires the driver to grow, reach, and ultimately learn the fine art of driving a Porsche.

I have owned and driven many cars and including a 996 and 997 however I really wanted a Widow-maker, the quintessential Porsche, a GT2 996 with none of the modern nannies. *One with every ounce of rubber torn out, with only the best suspension components, combined by a team into a car that is more than the sum of its parts. In a word the Perfect Car

To have and conquer this car would be the essence of Motorsports at its finest, a true man on man undertaking, just man and machine, truly alone.

This quest was recently capitulated by a very unfortunate accident that took my previous car from me early. *

This set in motion a mission to buy the foundation of a world class car that would provide the perfect platform for my dreams.

Thank God for the internet it allowed me to research and locate cars across the country, and perhaps by fate I stumbled on what I consider the deal of a lifetime. *A pristine GT2 garaged and cared for, driven only on special days. *But the car I found was actually more than this it had been take to GMG and treated to a whole series of upgrades and enhancements, and then never driven. *

That's right the beast apparently made the previous owner consider increasing his life insurance and rather than pay premium he just parked the car for years, fortunately he had it regularly serviced and run by some real pros in California. *Still he avoided the track, and even the street. *

I found this gem through Jim Teagartner at Fisher Imports in Laguna Beach, California. If you are ever in the market for a well cared for low mileage gem these guys have a sleepy little warehouse of Laguna Canyon Road stuffed with cars that would make you drool. *

And so our journey begins, we will be completely custom building the suspension system to give the car a much more aggressive set while still maintaining enough street drive-ability to occasionally drive to dinner or the club.

We will be going through detailed setup and suspension and want to share the journey with you. This forum and it's members have been invaluable in gaining knowledge and showing me their dreams and through this encouraged me to see out mine.

To start the Car In Laguna Beach California.

We picked up the car today in Laguna and enjoyed driving PCH, you guys out there are lucky.

Checked into the Hotel and had to snap a shot of my Babe and the new Beast

The car looks natural in the park

And by the Beach

The interior is perfect IMHO

Car Is covered in Carbon Fiber Door Pulls

The car came with 19 inch Formula Wheels with ultra low profile. great looking but no good at the track or where we are taking the suspension

The trunk has the Mouton Canisters and will have our cool shirt chest in here as well

Great Pedals

This is what the passenger sees.

Rear Moton system is mounted to roll bar

Roll Bars

More CF

The original seats which we will pull and replace

Rocket Drive

And then Back To the Beach

Thanks for letting me share, I hope I can inspire another to make the step and seize your dreams.

fabulous vehicle, many hours of happy motoring right there.......one small note....those seats.......are not designed for harnesses.

you may never use them, but if you did, in an impact the harness would slide right off your shoulders.

Yup, and they won't pass tech with any of the clubs I do simple DEs with for that very reason. Same seats I have in the GT3...
