Default Most heavy duty battery for 6gt3?

My battery lasts about a week, after which I can still open the doors but not start the car. I'm getting tired of it, so I want to buy the most heavy duty battery that still fits the stock location. I don't care about weight since I would swap it out for a lighter one on track days.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks.

Default need to investigate

What is causing the drain on the battery. There are some items that draw current all the time. All of the current draws can be measured. If the battery itself checks out good, then check and see what is drawing current, and how much.

the porsche battery I have only lasts about two weeks. I finally bought a ctek charger so I could stop worrying about the battery drain.

Walmart. Biggest one they sell fits and lasts forever. I just put one in my brothers GT3, which doesn't get driven much.

Been using a cig lighter charger since day 1, and have not had such a problem. Unless you drive the car regularly, the biggest/baddest battery is still going to die. My OE battery lasted 4+ years before it just died of old age, and I replaced it with a battery from AutoZone recommended here. Do a search, and it'll pop up, I'm sure.

(I did the search. Here it is: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...ch-2011-a.html)

The other solution - pull the negative cable if you don't have a charger; just leave the frunk popped!

Concur. A friend of mine had a bad generator/alternator diode and that was draining his battery in a day or two of non use.

We do agree that a healthy 996 and newer models have systems that draw electrical energy after the car is shut off. The engine cooling fan is one big draw.
