Default FS: FabSpeed Cat Bypass

Bought the bypass from fabspeed this year and used for 4 trackdays. I took these pic when its new and now its bronze color due to discoloration by heat. It is a 2 pieces design, to assure there is no exhaust leak, I have them professionally welded. Fittment is perfect. I also have the O2 spacers to keep the cell off.

Bypass + O2 spacers+Welding+Copper gasket were $550+$150+$80+$20=$800 new.

Now $480 shipped US & Canada.

Saves 20 lbs if running stock exhaust. Stock cats weigh 30 lbs total and catbypass weigh 10 lbs total. Mike

Curious why you are selling. Were there any negative performance issues ?

Thanks,

Steve

I love the set up, it sounds mean and engine definitely breath better. Unfortunately, it produces 102 db and its not allow in local tracks!

Thanks,

Michael

The noise is not so much of an issue for me as only 1 track that I frequent (CMP) has a noise restriction. Were you running the cat bypass with the oem mufflers or another muffler system ?

Thanks,

Steve

Looks like a good deal to me. If you ran bypass with stock mufflers, would it still register the 102dB?

After talking to Alex from Fabspeed this afternoon, I decided to keep it. He was very helpful. I was about to order a x-pipe highflow cat, instead he suggested that I can add a resonator to quiet it down a bit. I like the cat bypass set up..saves weight, engine breathes better...etc. So, I am going to try this out.
Thanks for looking.

Michael, please post back when you get the x-cat-pipe section with fit and finish feedback.

I did not buy the X-pipe 200cell cat. I heard the 200 cell cat could damage by heat for track use in a GT3. Instead, I bought the resonators to add on to the cat bypass to lower the sound level. The resonator is the small muffler from the supercup muffler. I like to give it a try as it is less restictive that 200cell cat. Parts will arrive this Friday and my next trackday is on 8/24. I will report back for performance and sound level.
