As I have my car for sale, I want to disclose that had unfortunately a little incident today in Sebring, even though this incident resulted to be a very minor one:

A little oil leak fell on the exhaust while I was on my 3rd lap in the first session, and ignited a small fire damaging ONLY the rear bumper and the paint on the engine lid.
It did not affect ANY other components of the engine, body or any other part of the car .
We fixed the small leak, and I was back on the track without even loosing session!

A new rear bumper and the 2 bumperetes will be changed next week!

As I have to paint the engine lid and wing and the rear bumper, I will take advantage of this incident and go ahead and repaint the whole car in it's original shiny black color, as anyhow the matte black color seems to be a more difficult color to resell my car.

Wow. That sucks. I'm sure the car will sell in a New York minute with the new paint.

how cheap can a good paint job be ?

why don't you offer a lower selling price with the current color ?

painting it again can't be good, you are adding weight

I saw the car at Sebring Saturday Looks great. I tried to keep up but def he has the faster car and perhaps faster driver. wouldconsider buying if I didn't have one already! . He had mechanics all over the car and obviously keeps the car in tip top shape.

I'd suggest a little "make lemonade" by going to the euro spec rear bumper cover (no bumperettes.)
