Default Airbag cutoff jumper??

GT3-ers,

Someone told me that there is a jumper you can insert somewhere in the fusepanel by the driver's left foot which disables the airbags. And it's not supposed to trigger the CEL.

Does anyone know about this? If so, what's the part number?

I'd love to be able to disable the airbags for track use. (Who needs them when you're all belted and HANS-ed in anyway?)

Or is this fantasy??

TIA, CIA, etc

Not sure if it's the same thing I am trying to do running a cup wheel with no airbag. Apparently you can install a resistor on the airbag wires that will trick the OBD/DME (forget which one) that there is an airbag present when here is in fact not one hence no error light or fault code.

2.8 Ohm 1/2 watt resister, you can use 2.7 Ohm or 2x 1.4 Ohm and connect these in a series. Or get 2 x 5.6 Ohm and connect these parallel, that way you get a 2.8 Ohm.

This info came thanks to Dell and Gert.

p.s. Hey Dell, truck driver said the car may arrive Thurs or Fri

Here is what I found from another member

n/c free advice that would cost you hundreds elsewhere ...

1.8 ohm resister connected in between the 2 wires to fool the computer.
That's what I had my mechanic do and then use the reset tool to clear the error code. Works like a charm.

1.8? From what I learned from Gert it is a 2.8ohm 1/2W resistor.

I know Joe is about to do this very thing so post up some pics!!!

So Gert told you 1.8 not 2.8? I'll have to contact him.

My tech measured the "ohms" with a fancy gadget and told me 1.8... I guess he could be wrong... whatever gert sent is working.

I just wrote down what the email from Gert said. Will have the process done in a few days and will post findings.

I just heard from Gert (I can't tell y'all how fast he is on email!!!) and he confirmed it is 2.8Ohm 1/2W resistor.
