No.

Straightline, the Carrera S does a 12.6@112 and 179mph vs. 12.3@114 and 190mph. (source for both: Car & Driver). The 4S is slower. A Carrera S with the X51(?) package is probably awfully close though.

I will go out on a limb and say that with more power, less weight, more brake, stiffer suspension, and similar tire widths, an equally driven Carrera S will not keep up on any tracks either.

The more I learn about the car, the more I realize that it is essentially an endurance racer with a plate. I didn't know it had a transmission cooler until I was looking through the parts manual. That should keep temps safe for my morning coffee run.

Who told you that? In general that is just not correct.

Tell them to put down the crack pipe & step back 10 feet.

Then send them here:

Define faster?

Well, close, but not that close. 8:02 for a PASM 997S at the "ring". 7:54 for a 2003 GT3. 7:47 for a 2004 RS.

Regardless, the 997S is a totally different car than the GT3. One is a street sports car and the other a track car.

A lot of people don't know about the GT3's bigger flux capacitors.

Infinite Improbability Generator.

And, now everyone knows the real reason why Porsche put the cup holder in the dash. It holds the brownian motion generator.

I heard that Porsche was able to make the GT3's ride height lower by cutting Boxster springs (by hand) and putting them on. Other than that the exhaust tips are different. I got my GT3 with the optional sunroof delete.

I think it's the "dry" heat. I need some humidity.
